    Gail:

Your tern is sharp, beautifully exposed, nice head turn ,good pose. I would further soften the brown spot at the wing tips.

I am intrigued by how the brown background interacts with the water and the birds wings. Have tried to figure out what could be done differently. Perhaps if the bird had been a bit more to the left of the downward projection of the sand , it would have framed the wings a bit more against the water, but the sand is so soft as is, that most won't be bothered by it I suspect.

    Nice shooting angle.

    Cheers

Great job catching the wing flap!
    Lovely setting and BG

Looks to me like it could use some CW rotation.

Gail - great exp, wing position and HA. I also like the water bg and that both reflection and shadow are visible but agree with Randy on the brown spot by the wing. You came back from the workshop with some great images.

Very nice pose, I could see this a bit tighter all around.
Exposure looks perfect and the IQ is very nice.

Hi Gail, excellent low angle, sharpness and exposure. Just love the pose.
Wish that the bird was either angled more towards us or had the head turned more our way.
That said, I'd take this in a heart beat.

Gail, nice job on exposure, and down in the surf angle on this beautiful tern. Excellent FG and BG. Agree on smidge of CW rotation. Lovely work.

Hi Gail, yes to good exposure on the whites, and yes to good sharpness throughout the tern. These guys have a lovely shape to their wings, and in this, love the curvature of the top of the wings. Good low angle, and agree, a touch of CW rotation is needed. I do wish the BG was more uniform through the wings.

Perfect pose, and I'm OK with the HA. Love the full up wings...there is one seemingly "hot" spot on the wing though that I would tone down to even out the tonality there. In case it wasn't siad enough...I agree with some CW rotation

Another great shot from the workshop. I love the wing position, low capture angle. HA works nicely for me. Yes to rotation and more uniform bg behind the wings, or at least lessen the brown spot.
