Almost ashamed to post an image of a common Galah but the weather has been lousy lately so not getting out much and this one landed on the front lawn to chew the grass. Very common throughout Australia in rural and suburban areas, usually in large flocks. Always amazes me that apparently these birds are often sold over seas for quite big sums of money, legally and on the black market from bird smugglers , yet they are so common here.

Canon 7D + 500 f4....f5, 1/500, ISO 200, no flash, hand held....dull overcast Winter weather, minimal PS tweaks

You get bonus points for a great title!
I love galahs and the streak of pink across the sky when they fly by as a flock.
Lovely IQ. I wish you had a bit more room on the left as the tail is quite close to the edge.

I like the sharpness, details, exposure and colours. I would like to see a little more room at the tail as well. Nice image Phil!

Well, they are not common for us in N.A., and besides, I love to photogrpah the common birds too :-) I too would like more room, but I love the low angle, colours, details, BG. Very appealing bird and image.

Taa for looking, sometimes the thoughts for composition are a bit confusing, though I can see the thought behind the possible need for more on the left, to do so would then centre the subject too much I would of thought
