Default I went to the Gardens and found a feather on a rock...

The flower shoot didn't go as well...breezy day, and it was one of those days where nothing really caught my eye...except for this. There was a good bit of luck involved...the feather blew off moments after I saw it, so I chased it down (picture that one...me with a full pack, tripod, camera, etc....chasing down a feather as it blew across the rocky area around the Turkish fountain). Once "captured" I place it back on the rock, helped in stay in place with a bit of water from the fountain, and took a few images. 180mm lens, f/11@1/60; RAW image processed in LR, NIK Tonal Contrast and Topaz Feature Enhancement on low opacity layers; then added Topaz->Simplify->BuzzSim on layer at 72% opacity and finished it with Oil Paint.

I really like the Simplify effect on the rocks! The colors blend well with the feather which is most interesting in shape and color.

This is a great contrast of textures and colors, gracefully curved white lines in the feather over gritty colorful rock texture.

John, I love the composition and the effect from the filters. The rock surface is really beautiful

John, very pleasing image with a nice graphic/organic look. Have I ever mentioned that I love that? As Dave said, good eye to put this together.

Very cool John! Great eye for this. I like the colors and I most especially like the effect of the BuzSim.
