Another red, white and blue sunset, this time with a line of coots crossing the lake to their roosting area. Topaz Adjust to modify the bright magenta tones into red tones and bring out detail in the clouds, and tonal adjustments to make the fog in the trees show up better.

Judy, I really like the composition on this one....great series of repeating lines, from the ripples on the water to the layers of the landscape, to the layers of cloud...I'd love to see the original. Well done!

Thanks John. Here is the original with just Lightroom modifications and in Ps I sharpened it a bit. I had underexposed it so I had to lighten the exposure a fair amount and added some contrast, clarity, vibrance and a little saturation and NR.

As John wrote, pleasing repetition of lines. Love the saturated colors you brought out, and how they repeat top and bottom. The clouds or fog adds mystery and depth. I've only heard Coots once.

Judy, both images are beautiful. I love the repeating lines and layers of color and especially the fog

Thanks Anita and Cheryl! Yes the fog was very unusual. First time I've seen it there in fact. There was a rain storm a few hours before sunset and maybe it cooled off and produced the fog.

Hi Judy, Beautiful colors and the repeating lines and layers as mentioned above are wonderful. I might evict the 2 dark spots on the left and foreground if it were mine.
