    Default Red, White, Blue Eagle

First, the story, which will probably be better than the image :)

This was shot at the National Aviary in Pittsburgh. The flag in the
background and eagle are one image. In other words, the flag wasn't
photoshopped in and vice versa for the eagle.

I waited about 6 hours for this eagle as he slowly (very slowly) would
move inch by inch up the log...hoping he got in front of the flag.

The eagle and flag are outside with no roof. The eagle can't fly away
because his left wing is broken.

As far as what I did to the image...The flag I used Slow Motion. The eagle
got the Poster Edges treatment. The log got the Mosaic Tiles treatment.

Doug, Wonderful image design. I like the way you processed this. If it were mine I might try to separate the head area from the BG a little. I love the stripes!

Doug, this is a very well-thought out image and I admire your patience to get the shot you envisioned immensely! I like the different filters that you used and think they work well with the image. I might crop just a little from the bottom so that there is about 1/2 as much of the white stripes showing on the bottom. Well done

A very fitting image for the holiday and the theme. Some really good thoughts above. I also admire your perseverance in getting what you envisioned.

I know I could not wait that long for a photo! What patience. Processing each part differently is an idea I hadn't considered. It worked out nicely here. Perfect for our theme.
