From last night at the local beach. Light not great as the clouds moved in. Still couldn't pass up the flight shot opportunity. Probably some motion blur in the wings as there just wasn't enough light for higher SS.

Nice flight shot, Joe. Yes, a higher SS might have helped if you had had the light. And I might wish for the bird to be higher in the frame. But a good flight angle and wing position.

Thanks Bill. I kept this low in the frame as this is how they fly in. They stay about 2ft off the sand.

Looks good to me, the face and bill are very sharp, nice bg, just wish I could ID the prey.

This is very nice with a good wing position and the prey in the beak.
I do wish the light had been better and I am sure you will have lots more opportunities for this kind of shot in better light.

That was a challenging evening, Joe, but you created a nice image here. I like how you've left him flying low across the top of the sand as that's what they were doing. Prey is a nice bonus also.

Joe - you did very well under the circumstances of the limited light. Nice flight shot and I like the comp. Prey definitely adds to it.

Hi Joe, good wing position, and you have exposed the skimmer well enough, considering your conditions. His catch a bonus. I can understand lower in the frame, as you say they fly closer to the sand, but would maybe add a bit to the bottom, and take a bit off the top.

Concur with Stuart,an d amazing shot especially considering relatively slow shutter speed and hoping the sun shines better for the next outing
