Beautiful capture, on the wings of an angel it seems ...certainly a lot nicer looking than our species of Ibis here

Very nice underside shot, good IQ, great blue BG. HA could be a little better.

    Hi Lyle,
How I wish the sun had been lower or the ibis angled slightly higher so that the sunlight had fully lit up the under wing.
I have never seen a white ibis with the green in the wings- very interesting.
I am trying to figure out what is going on in the BG. The blue areas look like the have chrominance noise but why would that be at an ISO of only 400? Was the image initially underexposed? Weird..
    I like the nesting material,
    Gail

I like the flight pose and nesting material. Sharp enough too. Just wish the subject had not flown past you, and I agree with Gail about the wings (light, and green). I would also place the subject further right in the frame (and perhaps a wee bit lower too) for more room to "fly" into.

Completely agree with the sun angle critique, this was a little late in the morning. I considered lightening up the shadows on the underside of the bird, probably will as time permits. These were the first white ibises I have ever seen, (and the first real birds in flight shots experience I have ever had), so I don't know what to say about the green in the wings. I double checked my ISO, it was 400. My D7000 can get noisy at ISO 400 and above. The image is basically unedited, I was shooting in JPG due to the buffer constraints of the D7000 shooting RAW, but I haven't upped the exposure any. As mentioned, I have already run the shot through Niks Define NR program. That noise is proving difficult to get rid of. Thanks for the critique.

Good points, I have other shots in the sequence as he was flying past me that I could assess for a better angle. He was a little closer in this one which allowed me to crop less. I've considered adding a litte canvas, just haven't taken the time to do it yet. Always appreciate your fine critiques.
