Great catch. Did you use a trigger or just good timing?
-
Hi Joe - No trigger, just a little patience.

Maureen, this is really cool... perfect timing! It almost like root of the tree in reverse
I think your use of Nik and Topaz adds a lot to the image. I would love to know your camera settings for this shot.

Maureen,
Great lightning. I love lightning pics! Florida is one of the great places for lightning, but even there it is not easy. Well done!

Maureen, that lovely storm knocked my power out for about 10 hours - thank goodness it was cool. I can't image what the people up north are doing without power in that heat. Great capture

There was a LOT of lightning with this storm (sorry about your power Cheryl, but I'm not surprised.) Basically what I did was to take 15 second exposures one after another until I captured a few images of the lightning. There's some ambient light on my street so I didn't want to leave the shutter open any longer than that.

Nice capture Maureen. We've had some good storms of late to shoot, especially when Debbie passed through.
If it were mine I might have removed the one "hair" in the lower left area. But otherwise, nice image.

Maureen, great timing and the sky colors are lovely. Thanks for sharing your settings!

Wow! Wonderful lightning image. Great lightning! The ambient light added interest. I like the colors in this image. Agree with Mike about cloning out that bit on the left. Patience paid off.
