Male Gambel's Quail pulling sentry duty while the female feeds nearby. Image captured yesterday afternoon in my back yard. I hope to improve the BG by shifting the perch slightly.

    Hi Ned!

Love the killer background! The color goes well with the Quail. The perch is interesting ... to me the patterns are repeated in the feathers. Very nice, and I wish I had these in my backyard! Also thanks for sharing your raptor information!

Great shot. I like it alot. Might work well as a vertical portrait too.

Excellent perch and pose. I agree with you that a slight change in approach would give you that smooth olive background. Have you tried a slight linear curve?

So I'm not the only person that sits in a blind in their own backyard, huhn :-)

Fantastic image! Definitely could work nicely as a vert too. Well done!
