    Default White-collared Seedeater

Despite there is a slight brownish color on this bird I hope it will still qualify for the monthly theme. I wish the leaf wasn't there in the lover left corner to have the full tail visible.
I have seen this species now in Veracruz and Oaxaca. The two subspecies are very different. This is the Veracruz version.

I wont look at the leaf lol.....nice use of ther BB in this, sharp and rather like the extra fine feather detail on it's cheeks, smooth green backdrop contrasts nicely. Showing the powerful seed crushing beak nicely in this

This is a really beautiful portrait, Lorant. I love that soft green background, the bird's pose, and the perch. I see what you mean about the tail but I still think it's a winning shot. Was this close to full frame?

I don't mind the leaf at all, I think a bit larger view would look nice, it is a bit tight for me.

I too wish that leaf was not covering the tail. Having said this, I think the image rocks! Great job with the exposure, lots of details, and I like the vertical composition. Yes, qualifies for the theme!!

Very nice Lorant! Good use of the flash too. Like the BG and the vertical comp also. I still would take it myself even with the leaf. Nice looking bird!

Lorant, beautiful portrait of a beautiful bird. very good self critique. loved the IQ here. Good job getting so close. Killer sharp and perfect exp. If anything, perhaps a tad more DOF would have been better...a minor point though.
