    Default American Oystercatcher

After having failed on my last two trips down to Milford Point, CT to get any images of these guys I was determined to get something halfway decent. There are two pairs on this sand split and they were completely uncooperative until right before I left and decided to give it one more shot. Kneeling down just on the slope of the split (and entirely on crushed shell...ouch) I had this guy walk right past me, down to the water, and back up. I know I goofed a bit on the framing, but otherwise I'd love your c&c's.

Nikon D300, Sigma 500mm, 1/1600 @ f/5.6, ISO 200, Spot Metering. Slight adjustments in Lightroom and white balance, tonal, and detail in Nik.

    Hi Joseph,

Love the overall iq, foot up moment, and low position. Nice detail. Only thing with the framing is that I'd like to see a bit more room at the bottom.

Yes, a bit more room needed at bottom, but you certainly have a more than "halfway decent" image!! Love the rocky habitat, low angle, separation from BG.

Excellent exposure and a nice, low shooting angle.
I like the raised foot a lot and also the pebbles below.
I agree that more room below, if available, would improve this even more.
    Very nice image.

I'd love to add more room, but I'm afraid my photoshop skills are nowhere near good enough to even attempt to do that. Looks like I'll just need to try for a re-do. Thanks all.
