These poisonous snakes are fascinating in that they come in a variety of colors ranging from this to bright yellow. They are extremely well camoflauged but "findable" if you walk slowly and scour the vines near trails. The yellow ones are perhaps easiest to spot but not as easy as one might think. I'll post one of those next.
This was shot with flash as main light as my tripod was lost in transit for 5 days! I used the flash to stop motion and give me some DOF. This is a very small snake; perhaps only 10 inches long.

Great looking snake and the FAML exposure looks pretty natural - well done. I might suggest moving to the right and framing wider to get the snake's head more separated from the diagonal lead behind him and to get the top of the snake's body in respectively, would help to improve and good image.
Having the snake diagonal in the image makes for a strong composition.
