Shot this at Nickerson Beach on Long Island this week. Tripod mounted Canon EOS 1DMK4, 600mm, ISO 640, f/6.3, SS 1250. I cropped a slight bit off the right and slightly more on the left. Also added a slight vignette blur.

Fine image Nick. This happens so fast you need to be ready , which seems like you were. Might just fix the highlight in the adults eye.

Another sweet moment. I like the blur effect, though I would not use it on the back of the adult. Very good work.

The birds are nicely positioned and encircled with oof areas narrowing attention to just the main subjects...very good I feel. Lovely interaction, sharp where it has to be and lovely soft feel to this one

Fantastic interaction captured! That little one is too cute.
Superb image; just not sure about the vignette blur - it has rendered the adults neck/back soft.

Thanks guys. yes I am not sure about that vignette blur myself. Easy fix as it is on its own layer, something just didn't look right about the one without the vignette.

Nick, sweet image with a great story. Wondering why it didn't look right without the blur vignette?

Sweet behavior image, Nick. I don't feel as though the vignette blur works, and the image appears cropped too tightly IMHO. I would give and little bit of space on left, right and top. No more space needed on the bottom.
