Andreas - I really like this with the slight tilt to the head and the eye contact. Good walking pose and the added canvas looks fine.

I'd say near perfect walking pose, eye stare, POV, love it. Lot of interesting detail and color in his tossed mane. Also very much like the "environment", ground with bit of grass but not hiding paw and background adds to it all.

Hi Andreas, well you certainly capture him in the classic manner, conveying the size, strength and power these guys have. The central position works well, along with that intense stare, good call on adding a fraction more canvas. Just a thought, but the outside of the maine, wether you should feather or reduce in % the sharpness, just looks a little over sharp on the very edges IMHO?

    Hi Andreas,
A lovely portrait of a black maned Kalahari lion. I like the detail, composition and the POV. Can you remember where you took this image in the KTP?
Thanks for sharing and best wishes,
    Mark.

the approach angle here is very strong!
I love Kalahari lions Andreas and this one is great.
I do agree with Steve that there are sections of fur on the lion that look just on the border of "crunchy" and would be worth a re-look in terms of sharpening applied
