This was by far one of the best nests I have ever photographed b/c it was so low and there was the choice of two backgrounds, blue or green. However, the window for each was fairly small so there wasn't much wiggle room. This is the female coming in with a berry to feed a young male which fledged the next day. The feedings consisted of a balanced amount of various insects and berries delivered by both adults.

This was one of the best photography days of my life and will always be etched in my mind. Having the opportunity to witness and photograph up close the behavior of Mother Earth's creatures and to be educated by them trumps just about everything.

    Canon 1D3, Canon 500L
    F9, 1/1600sec, ISO 640, manual mode
    Feisol tripod, Jobu head

C & C always welcomed and much appreciated.

Love that closed eye on the young one. Very sweet. Must be lot of fun to watch this.
I really like it. Little more eye contact with the female would put this over the top but sometimes you just take what you can.
    Thanks for sharing.

Superb moment well captured. Little bit of head turn of the mom would have been nice. Having said that, the image presented as it is itself a big deal for me as I never photographed a nest.

Would love to add a shot like this to my collection one day! Well done Marina! As mentioned a little better eye contact with mom would be nice but it's still a winner to me. Nice and sharp, well exposed and love the green BG. TFS

Very nice image, sharp and well exposed. Great moment captured and that exchange takes place rather quickly, I usually get motion blur on one of the heads and never get good ha on both birds. Well done.

Great opportunity and well taken advantage of, Marina.
Love the feeding action and the berry being excanged between beaks adds interest. It is always good to find a nest.

What a fine image, Marina. I love finding something like this and then following it for a period of time. Seems like that's when the real learning does occur and the experience the most rewarding. From a viewer's point of view, I do wish that a bit more of the parent's eye was visible.

Hi Marina, I really like the light in this, together with the overall IQ of the image. Well exposed on the adult, and the closed eyes of the chick receiving his meal puts this over the top.
