    Nice bird and pose but somehow I find the thorns a bit ovewhelming.

    Sanjeev:

    Very interesting perch, and yes, could easily overpower the bird. I believe if you remove the branch behind his head, and esp. the thorn sticking straight up, and then crop down just slightly , that it can work quite well, and really show off the bird better.

    THere is some subtle chroma noise in the background that could be toned down with noise reduction.

    Interesting habitat capture with a nice BG and head turn. The only thorn that draws my eye is the one behind the head, not only b/c of its placement but due to its brightness. I not big into removing objects, but I would be inclined to do so in this case.

    I think this would be better with all of that behind the head gone. The bird is sharp. How in the world do they land in stuff like this and not get injured, I am sure that they sometimes do.
