    Default Watchful Allen's

Greetings. Allen's are small, fast & very territorial. Hard to get in flight but luckily they return to a favored perching spot.

    D4 300f/2.8 + TC20EIII (600mm) f/8 1/2000 ISO200 Manual (about +2.0EV in raw conversion) bright morning sun, no flash
tone adjustments & sharpening, light nr in raw conversion, not quite 50% crop

Relying on DR & exposing to the left for whites.

    Thanks for looking.

Hi Michael, this fellow certainly looks small, and I like how his bill follows the line of the perch. Lovely iridescence, good DOF, and if this were mine, I would take a bit off the RHS to get rid of some of the OOF BG.

Lovely bird with nice details. Like the vegetation under the perch. Agree on some off of the right to help make the bird a tad more off center and remove more of the RHS vegetation.

agree with crop suggestion. the right side can go IMO because it is behind the bird and has some distractions. Otherwise, a superb image with nice details and design.
