    Default American Robin portrait

This male American Robin was hunting for worms by the side of a pond in Sackville, NB, and was more or less oblivious to me. I could not get the whole bird in the frame so decided to try a head portrait. The catchlight in the eye is the setting sun behind me.

    Comments welcome as always!

Very nice head portrait, John. You would have needed a bit more DOF to cove the bill. Great detail in ethe feathers and sweet background :)

Awesome, what sharpness in the eye, I agree you need more then F 4 to the bill.

I agree with the DOF comments and perhaps it is just a tad high in contrast. Otherwise, a very nice, tight portrait

I guess I am the odd man out on this one. I find it just too big in the frame. It has nice deatails just too big. It was nice to get so close however. Thanks for sharing.
