Wow, Karl. I am really envious of this one. You had nice low, shot from a low angle and you have a great angle on both birds. You must have had a grin ear-to-ear as you were photographing these guys.

Nice one, Karl...I know these grebes too. I just posted a pic of some different grebes. I don't know that it will work out as well for them...I keep my fingers crossed...this is a very nice picture...I hope to go back and visit these ones as well, assuming they are the tire babies?

    Very nice image.
I like the subject matter and the IQ. Good low POV and light.
    Excellent use of fill flash

Excellent shot Karl! Great behaviour captured beautifully! Won't mind seeing this with some more room all around - especially on the sides.

How nice, Karl! Sweet expression on the chick's face. I could see a slightly looser compostion as an alternative.

Beautiful interaction, details and light. I agree with Ofer and Grace that a little more room would be a nice alternative.

Fantastic image Karl! I could see it with a little more room, but the tighter crop works well too. Congrats on a fine image!

That is sweet Karl, great IQ and eye contact.

I will try to get out that way this weekend and hopefully there will be more chicks.

Wonderful capture. Great subject, terrific techs. Nice light. Checks all the boxes. I could also see a little more room, especially in front.

    Karl:

Sweet, sharp, well exposed with good use of flash to punch up the colors. Good angle, well done!

    Cheers
