I thought I was photographing a Veery, but this does not look like a Veery. From my bird book it looks like a Red-eyed Vireo or possilbly a Warbling Vireo. The bird was observed in southern Quebec in mid-June. Can someone confirm the identity of this bird?

Looks like a red-eyed to me. It is quite common in Quebec so it would make sense.

P.-A. has it. One of the most common songbirds in NA although they are usually heard rather than seen.

Definitely a Red-eyed and not a Warbling. Ignoring the red eye (since you can rarely see that in the field), look at the head pattern. There's a dark line from the base of the bill to the eye, a pale line above that, and another dark line above that. If you could see the crown it would be gray. Warbling Vireos are also a bit paler overall and daintier, but it probably takes a bit of experience with at least one of the species to use comparatives.
