I made this image yesterday evening - This boy hung with me for quite awhile - let me drive right beside him while I tried to get a clear view. The light was just about perfect I think - Hope you like him :D

    Very nice capture Bruce,
Love the composition, and exposure, the sudued background really brings out the bird. Details are sharp and good eye contact...

I sure do Bruce !!! Cooperating birds are always nice !!!

The exposure might be a little over? Don't see much detail in the white collar If possible would have moved left for even better sun angle and moving the sticks up front away from the bird

On the tech side would have used a much higher iso The camera does produce excellent images Photographing at 1/125 makes not sense using a 500 and 2X I'm sure it could have been even sharper !!! Do like it a lot as presented !!!

that's a beauty, bruce!!! i think you could gaussian blur those sticks in front to blend with the rest of the bg. that's some great light!!!

You're right about the exposure Alfred, Nonda. I backed it off about 1/2 stop in LR - didn't think about using a higher ISO as I felt that I could get a sharp image using the BLUBB. I sure wish I could have gotten a better sun angle, but I would have had to have pulled my truck right in front of him, and that sure wasn't going to happen! I'll work with this later and try the gaussian blur on the sticks on the right Harold. Thanks for the looks and suggestions - sure is a great way to learn :)

Very nice photo of a usually skittish bird! Pheasants are so magnificent with their many and varied colors. Great shot!
