Another Lotus image...with a friendly visitor included. 180mm, f/8@1/160. Raw image processed in LR; curve added for tone and color in PS...selected the beetle (?) and brightened him just a bit...selective eviction of some small blemishes on the petals.

Hi John, really nice composition. I would just tone down some of the highlights. The big adds some interest.

Hi Nick; I've struggled a bit with how far to tone down the highlights...that's one of the challenges of photographing a Lotus. Is this closer to what you suggested?

Hi John, nice focus and I like the patterns in the lotus. The bug does add some interest too. The original looks fine to me but I don't see much difference between the two images. Nice work.

Thank you, Allen...I only toned down the brightest of the highlights...it IS a subtle difference...and more noticable in print or at a larger size.

Very nice, John. Love the little visitor I think I like the orginal better than the repost.

Hi John. The OP looks OK to me. I like the comp and soft lighting. Being a a "bug" guy, I think the beetle adds interest. This looks like a Spotted Cucumber Beetle (Diabrotica undecimpuntata). This is very nicely done!
