The pose, perch and background makes the picture for me, Bill.
The diagonal perch and the placement of the bird is excellent.

    Hi Bill,
I really like the colors in this image.
IQ is excellent and I like the head position of the bird. I wish there wasn't a merge between the beak and the flowers but still lovely as is.
If this was mine I might be tempted to crop more off the LHS eliminating the 3 OOF flowers on lower branch,
    Gail

Ah Bill, that is nice, especially the feeding in the flower. The image could really benifit from a warming filter IMO.

Excellent image Bill! I like the pose, perch, IQ, exposure and BG. Is that grass in the BG?

Lovely Bill. Gorgeous colours and really like the flowers on the perch and the feeding behaviour mentioned by Alan. Great sharp details on the bird and a nice clean background. Well done.

Thanks Alan. I hadn't noticed the bluish cast on the flowers, but the addition of a #85 filter at 15% density was enough to make the whites more neutral. Thanks for pointing it out.

    Thanks everyone for your comments.

Gail: I do have a frame where the beak is free of the foliage, and I admit I was a bit torn. But I decided I preferred the more dynamic version with the feeding pose despite the overlap. I'm not crazy about the 3 oof flowers, but didn't like the proportions I would get by cropping them out.

Jim: This was shot near the entrance of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, on May 4th. The BG is an oof tree in spring foliage.

Wonderful capture, and the repost takes it even better. Thanks to Alan for pointing out the fact that this image needed some warming up b/c I would not have noticed. Comp works great, and I love the beak within the flowers b/c it adds another element. If the bird's beak were not merging, it would be just another pretty picture...where here it is telling more of a story.
