    From the local nature study area this AM. Fun to see how these birds can swallow a crab whole. Just amazing how they get it down.

    800ISO F8 at 1/2500th
    Fill at minus 2/3
    600F4 with 1.4TC

    Hi Joe,
    I like that you caught " the flip".
    I would clean up the OOF debris in the water behind the bird in the BG. I am OK with the debris in the FG though.
    I am trying to understand fill flash better and wonder why you used it in this situation? Please enlighten me,

    Harsh light. Fill flash softens/fills in some of the dark shadow and helps "pop" the image.

    Great action in this one Joe...nicely exposed and crisp details on the bird...I love the crab, and can't imagine what it must feel like swallowing it whole!
