    Dave:

Sharp, well exposed, nice lookback pose, curving perch, curving grasses, and natural shape of bird, all work well together.

    Nice vibrance too ()

    Cheers

nice pose and head turn, from the details it looks like a huge crop or maybe I'm wrong.

Nice pose !....and light in the eye, I tend to feel the background a bit too vivid and competes for attention to the bird, but excellent score on this beauty

Thanks everyone for looking and commenting. The bg had a bit more light than the bird so i just let it go at that when I processed.

Arash thanks for mentioning the IQ. Original RAW file is 5760 x 3840 pixels and TIFF file is 2480 x 3719 with a small sliver off the top. It is always good to know how the pp'n looks. It is a big part of the process.

Hi Dave, well placed in the frame with a good look back pose. I like the DOF, good feather detail throughout, and I like the BG with a hint of grasses at the bottom.

    Nice perch and pose, Dave.
Pretty BG also, it looks like the NW, most people don't realize how GREEN it is here!

One of the best portraits of this species I have seen. Love the perch and the pose. The BG and the vegetation works well. I find the facial disk a bit bright on my monitor and with a little work you could bring out more details in that area.
