I shot this a few weeks ago at my favorite rose garden. I used a Nikon 200mm macro with twin fill flashes. Applied a mild PB plus Topaz detail filters...

Dave, this is lovely. I like the dew drops and the slight Topaz effect. The color is gorgeous.

Dave, this is stunning...beautiful colors, tight framing, and subtle, effective processing; my only comment would be to perhaps "color" in the lighter area lower center, right at the edge...the brighter area draws my eye away from the focal point of the composition. Would you mind sharing the exposure settings? Nicely done.

Thank you, Dave...I'd be interested in dropping you a line at some point about how you handle issues of diffraction at small apertures (fairly noticeably on my 180mm when I drop from f/16 to f/22, even from f/11 to f/16 although not AS bad)...DOF without stacking...etc. Love macro but often frustrated by what I am perceiving as physical limitations (aren't we all! )

Hi John, I know what you mean regarding frustration. I've been using my 200mm macro for so long I have a good feel(not 100%) for it's limitations(depending on what I'm looking for)
I would love to stack images which would add a big dimension...

Love the detail and color, Dave. Real nice comp and processing.

A gorgeous rose and gorgeous capture! I like the tight crop. Just the right amount of processing. Have mixed feelings about the black.

Brilliant color, comp, and detail in the petals, and water droplets. OK with the black BG since there isn't much of it in the composition. Nice work, Dave.
