    Default Burrowing Owl

I'm captivated by these owls, as I'm sure many others are. I plan on spending a fair amount of time with them over the next couple of months. This one was photographed today; it allowed me to get quite close, as long as I approached slowly. I thought about cropping a little off of the bottom, but I didn't want to crowd the owl. Perhaps a little more sky? What do you think?

Very nice detail and pose. You sure have its attention! I'd add a tad more sky and a tad more on the right. Only thing I find distracting is the small oof area at the bottom. Where are you finding them in ABQ?

After further thought and experimentation, I like an 8x10 crop better.

Doug, this is a very good image of this beautiful owl, in my opinion it should be a little bit darker, but thatīs it. Great job.
I am trying to take a decent picture of a Striped Owl which is coming close to my house these days, I will see what happens.

Great capture Doug - love those soft colours and the low perspective. Well done!!!

    Agree on the 8x10 format.

This is lovely, Doug. I definitely prefer the repost. My only suggestion would be a slight contrast boost.

Thanks Tony. I like your version with the increased contrast.
