    Hello everybody ,
i think i post an unusual shot in two ways. One is ,that this is an very old shot with my first DSLR.
Second is this very close up of an eye of a giraffe taken in Etosha. If you look carefully you can see the car i am sitting in,as a reflection in the iris.
So please tell me your thoughts and do not blame me that i post such an old image.

    Canon EOS 10D
    Ef 100 - 400 at 400mm
    Handheld

    F6 / 1/250sec / ISO 100

    C&C most welcome.
    Cheers Andreas

Really like it Andreas, really nice detail & texture, perhaps a little off the top?

If Canon guys get stuck for camera bodies for their museum I will get them to contact you, I've never known anyone have so many different bodies, LOL.

I think you achieved what you wanted here, Andreas...the reflection is awesome, and it's interesting at least to me...
Light wasn't ideal but hey, we all shoot way past the "good light" anyway when we're on safari

I'm going to be the contrarian and say that I've looked at this a few times and it just doesn't work for me. If I'm looking at a shot of the eye, I want to see the eye not a reflection of a safari vehicle. Just my $.02, sorry.

    TFS,
    Rachel

While I like the fly & the detail, Rachel does have a point.

Thanks guys for your comments good or not that good.
Rachel - i ask myself if you would have noticed or identified my car if i not have told in my explanation.Anyhow the main subject is still the eye,at least for me.Second when can you get that close to a giraffe ,in the wild,to get a eye close up in FF ?
These are my reasons for posting this image.

    Andreas,

An interesting image, that shows that the old cameras worked very well indeed, even with a tiny file size by today's standards. Juust as well considering the price of cards back then.

I think I gave my 10D away to a guide many years ago
