Hi Rachel, love the pose, hope he's got a parachute to land safely. Good eye contact, and I like the detail from the underwings. If this were mine, I would try and smooth out the sky a touch more. Here is a quick show of what I mean. Just ran some NR on the BG. Although there was no noise, it just seemed a bit 'blotchy'. Hope you dont mind. Of course you could also apply a Gaussian blur, and working on your original will help too.
I like the pose and the direct oncoming view.
I would crop a bit off the bottom to have less rock and more of a pano composition.
Light is getting pretty harsh but you controlled the whites and blacks very well.
What time do you land on Macchias? How long can you stay?
Gail
Thanks David, Andrew, Dan and Gail. Gail - the landings are tide dependent so time of day sometimes varies (at least that's what the deckhand and captain said). The 3 days I went we met in Cutler just before 7am. By the time everyone gets transferred to the boat, the ride out there, transferred to the island, briefed on the rules and walked to the blinds, it was pretty close to 9 each morning. We had between an hour and an hour and a half in the blind each day but I think normally it is closer to an hour. We had a bit more time because the other boat that leaves from Canada had not started its trips yet. If both boats visit the island at the same time there is a rotation system. Landings are always limited to 3 hours and when you are not in the blind, you have to stay on a patio next to the lighthouse.
