Default Red, white and blue sunset at the dock

I hope this fits the theme! This was made June 20th as the last vestages of sunset were fading. This is the dock where I make many of my sunset photos and lotus pad photos, as you can see, they are all along the dock, both sides actually.

I used Topaz Adjust, then Oil Paint filter formerly known as Pixel Bender, in a very mild application with no texture, then I used Topaz Simplify Oil Paint preset and got more of the effect I was looking for.

Dramatic image, and I would love to hang out on that dock at sunset...(how are the mosquitoes?)

Thanks Mitch! There usually aren't any mosquitoes out on the water. There is usually a breeze but it was almost dead calm that night and I was a little warm as it was pretty hot and very humid even at sunset. Summer heat has arrived!

Thanks Hazel! I was trying to come up with something for the theme and I had just processed that photo a few days ago and it seemed like a good prospect.

Fits the theme very well, and I too would love to hang out on that dock. I like the use of the simplify oil paint for this one.

I meant to add that the water level is down in the lake due to being about 5" shy of rain for the year. It usually comes up closer to the top of the dock. The water is very shallow here only about 3 or 3.5 ft. A portrait photographer friend of mine fell in while taking pics of a model he had sitting in a chair in the water but managed to keep his camera dry. So if I fall in at least I won't drown!

Judy, a gorgeous scene and great for the theme. I especially like the water color effect on the lotus pads and the water around them.

Thanks Cheryl! Yes I like that too. This preset was called oil painting but it looks like a watercolor to me also.

Hi Judy, love the processing for this sunset. I really like the lotus pads in the foreground..they add lots of interest to the image. Very nice work!

Glorious, glorious blues! The touch of black and red/yellow sets of the blues beautifully. I like your composition and processing.
