That huge Colorado fire is still bearing down on my home here in the mountains. I am under "pre-evacuation" orders which means I must be ready to leave in minutes. Two car-loads of stuff have been taken down the mountain to safety and my suitcase and camera gear are at the ready. Thank goodness for OOTB to keep my mind off the billowing clouds of smoke as I wait! Hopefully the fire will soon be controlled.

Whoa, Nancy, this is quite surreal looking. Very weird looking fellow-what is he attached to? I love the shades of brown in the image. I hope you won't have to evacuate - the waiting and not knowing must be very stressful. Stay safe:S3:

Nancy, when I first viewed this, I thought it was a profile view of a shrimp! Very different...unique processing. In the meantime...stay safe! I hope you're able to avoid evacuation.

Now that you mention it, it does look shrimp-like. Actually it's type of plant-feeding insect that has a long probing, sucking beak that looks like one of the antennae but is the bent one closest to the front legs. It is on a rock and the rear end is just OOF & the details lost in fractalius.
There is a steady drone of helicopters and planes flying over to drop water & retardant. My fingers are also crossed!
