Kerry, Soft and dreamy. I love the comp too.
Kerry, I've come back to this several times, hesitant to comment, trying to get my head wrapped around what bothers me a little bit about the image...like Denise, I like the soft, dreamy quality...the composition is strong...I think I find myself wanting the shadowed area of the bird to be a bit brighter..making the white pop just a smidge...as it is my eye tends to search the center of the photograph for a focal point before settling on the eye and head and making sense of it. Maybe popping the yellow just a bit...something to help orient the viewer to what the bird is doing. Don't get me wrong...I really like the image!...but, for me, it takes a little longer to recognize the what's happening in the pose. It may just be my eye! Hope to see more of this style from you.
Beautiful composition, Kerry. I too love the dreamy effect. Excellent processing. I see John's point; may be the brightening the yellow just a bit may highlight the pose even further.
Such a soft and tender image. I love it, Kerry!
Kerry: I find this image a bit difficult to see due to the darkness and the unusual position of the bird. I'm hampered by not being a bird person and not having the best eyes. The softness and arc of the wings is beautiful. But, the overall effect is too dark and confusing for me. But, I'm just one person.
