Spent yesterday morning shooting iris in less than ideal conditions...very windy...and I ended up with very few that were even close to the technically sharp images I like to start with. This image was captured at an ISO of 800, f/22@1/15 with the 180mm lens. RAW image processed in LR; NIK Tonal Contrast was added on a low opacity layer; NIK Vignette Blur also added at a low opacity. Brought into DAP, applied the Realism filter, saved as a layered PSD, blended into the original. Not sure about the end result yet :e3.

I think it is a beautiful image! Love the close in view and the composition. Marvelous colors. I might darken the upper right petals just a bit, and run a round of denoise. Lovely work.

I agree with Bob. The composition is very nice. And I like the range of blues and purples. The veins in the lower third seem to be leading into a darker depth. Nothing forbidding. Just another place. The darker tones, there, are accented by the light ruffle and curve above. The small amount of yellow is just wonderful.

Thank you for your comments...deeply appreciated. Anita, that's not noise...there's a texturing, that's hard to explain, on the petals of the iris...an iridescent quality that almost shimmers when viewed up close.

Thank you, Denise...still trying to get my head wrapped around blurs and flowers...but everytime I intentionally blur, I look at the image and think...nope...not there. You would have thought a breezy day would have been perfect for that...maybe the breeze just isn't in my head yet! *grin*
