Watching the ferns come up yesterday I was struck with trying to capture that feeling of coming alive after a long winter.

Bob, don't you LOVE that midnight filter? It's so good at setting a mood! You have done a great job here! Only suggestion I can think of would be in camera - to have gotten a little bit more of the stem of that unfurling fern leaf. Wow, I just think you did a great job on this!

Very nice image and application, Bob.
Like the feel of this one. Only suggestion is that maybe blurring the right side fern leaves, to closer match the other BG areas. I like the leaf there, but have a slight conflict issue between focusing on it and the other "subject" fern unfurling.

Very neat perspective, Bob. Your effects combo looks great. You might try a crop that eliminates the right leaves and see what you think. Agree with others and like the mood this sets.

I, too, love watching the ferns unfold. Nicely captured! I like how the light takes my eye right to the unfurling fern. I, too, find the fronds on the right side distracting, and would probably crop them out. I haven't used the midnight filter, but your use of it encourages me to try it.

I have just strarted playing with color effects..I'll have to try this filter. Very well done, you gotta love the 105 macro, I give another vote for cropping right fern leaves...

HI Bob, I love ferns when they are unfurling like this. Very nice filtering here. I agree with Steve on the leaves along the right side. I find my eyes drifting over to them.

This is very nice, Bob. I like the competing fronds on the right hand side. I think if this were mine, I'd keep them but add a slight vignette.

Bob, I like this image a lot..with the exception of the RHS leaves. Good suggestions given RE blurring them...beautiful job of processing this one.
