I added a couple of heavy textures to cover the very busy background and some Fractalius at a very low opacity. I liked the dark moody look to this, hope you guys do too.:S3:

Really beautiful, Dense :S3:
Denise, this is terrific. The tree, itself, the composition, the textures . . . You did a masterful job on this. It's the type of image in which the background does more than complement the subject. It's an important part of what you created. I love the tactile feel of it.
I like this very much Denise. The heavy textures in the sky really set off the tree and I like seeing only a small amount of ground. Works well, nice and moody.
Denise, did you ever see the movie "Edward Scissorhands"? This image immediately evoked memories of the mood and nuances of that movie, around the castle he was raised in...and yes, that's a good thing. Moody, dark and, because of the processing on the tree, a bit whimsical all at the same time. Well done!
I love the simplistic design, Denise. Great job of isolating the tree and setting the "Gothic" mood. For me, it's one of those rare contemplative images. TFS!! :S3:
I like that John used the words moody and whimsical together for this. It certainly fits and I love how you've presented your vision. Did you see this image in your mind, or a similar feeling before you started working your magic?
Thank you all for the kind words. This image was something that I put together in my mind and looked high and low for a tree to photograph that would fit the image that I had in mind. Funny it ended up being a tree that I walk past every night! I needed to look at the tree from a different angle.
Great mood piece. Simple and elegant. Well handled.
I'm late to the party! This is great for all the reasons above. I really like the traces of blue in the image.
A very beautiful, moody image! All the elements work together perfectly. Very nice work, Denise! :S3:
Denise, I do... The heavy textures really make this one special for me. It has a surreal quality that I like a lot.
I love the dark moody look and the interesting textures really add a lot of interest to the background.
Very artistic work, Denise. This as stated above, very surreal..yes thats the word I was looking for surreal. TFS
Very nicely done Denise, I think it is amazing that we can walk past stuff like this time and time again until one day we see the image that has always been there.:S3:
Hi Denise....simple, unique, moody are words that i would use to desribe your image. I am loving the way the light and misty mood are working together here
