A nearby preserve is bursting with White Trilliums and Virginia Bluebells.
105mm macro, tripod, 1/15, f5.6, ISO 800 (it was evening).
PP: Elements 10: basic adjustment layers, dust & scratches filter & cloning because I failed to brush pollen off leaf before taking photo; CEP: Tonal Contrast, Pro Contrast, Remove Color Cast, Lighten Center; Viveza; Texture "providence" by Kim Klassen. (I listed principal adjustments, not all).

This is beautiful, Anita. The color combination is great. I'd forgotten that white trillium turn pink. The depth of field seems just right to me, and the range in greens is very nice. In spite of liking the curves in the large leaf, I'd probably crop a good bit of it away (about halfway between the bottom and the lowest part of the nearest petal) if it were mine. It's wonderful just like this, however.

I agree with Dennis's comment completely. I love all the textures and lines going on here.

I really like the delicate pale flower against all those forest greens. No additional cropping for me.

I appreciate the comments. The flower is supposed to be white. I goofed up somewhere. Here is a repost with the flower white and cropped as suggested.

Hi Anita, lovely blossom. I prefer the repost. No trilliums in bloom up here yet, but I hope to get lots in a few weeks when we head north to open the family cottage.

I love the 105 macro, the image composition in both are lovely, the center of the flower is sharp. Well done

Hi Anita; the repost works better for me; with the beautiful textures and details in the bloom, I'd even be tempted to crop it a bit tighter. Love how you captured the translucency of the petals...the texture works well for this image. Nicely done!

Anita, I like the repost and I can see why you included the entire leaf. I also like the beautiful details in the trilium. Nice texture choice and I like the way you integrated it.

Hi Anita...I think you did a wonderful job composing this. I like your OP best because I like the diagonal line the leaf makes carrying my eye upward to the beautiful trillium. Very Nice work!
