Taken at the local botanicals; 180mm, f/22 @ 1/13, ISO 400. RAW image processed in LR; once in PS, used NIK ColorEfex for vignette and blur around the edges. Like Artie, inspired by some of the floral work by Denise...easy to find inspiration in this forum! It's a very tight composition, I know..that was intentional...we'll see where the thread takes the idea.

John, This is well composed. The water drops and the curve of the petal look good..

John nice work, the colors, yellows and pinks, very nice, sharpness of the drops and I like the composition. Only thing I might do is clone in some of the tulip color in the top right corner to match the left side, very minor but thats just my opinion...very well done

Here's another thumbs up for the colors, the water drops, the curve and the tight composition. The blur at the edges was a good touch.

The colors, curves and droplets add up to a winning combination, John. Well done! Agree that we all learn a bunch from this forums participants.

Hi John, Thank you for the kind words. I really love the beautiful colors of the tulip. Nice composition with the curves and water drops. I too agree that we all learn so much from each other here in OOTB :).

Thank you for the comments...Paul, I tried adding some color to the URC, but it looked unnatural...for print, I darkened it a bit more using Viveza. I hope all had a great Easter!

Maybe it's just me, but as much as I love this as is, I'd almost prefer that the blossom filled in at the corners. My eye goes straight for the corners, and I really want them to gaze over the lovely, lovely colors and detail of the blossom. Very lovely shot.

I very much like the tulip filling the frame. The colors are lovely, as are the curves and water drops. What to do with corners in cases like this is a challenge for me. I prefer to have the flower fill in the corners, which would require a different initial angle or getting in so close that the curve of the petals is lost. Or, I' like to see all the corners about the same. A cunundrum.
