Artie, I hope you read this. I need your help. I purchased your blubb several years ago and have had good compliments and success using it. I have also used it at times when I target practice as a rest for my rifle, with no issues.
Yesterday, however, I used it as a rest for my Ruger .44 Magnum 7-1/2" pistol. I have adjustable sights and needed to sight in my weapon. I laid the barrel and the cylinder on the blubb for the rest and after 3 shots I noticed that the heat generated from the shot out of the cylinder burned a hole in the material of the blubb. Something I did not anticipate. I am going to have to repair it somehow and I was wondering what kind of material was used or could be sewn over this to repair it. There is a local seamstress with a heavy duty machine who can fix it for me, i just want to use the right fabric. Obviously I will never use it again as a rest when I go shooting again! It is a fine piece of workmanship, and I like having it.
As a side point, do you know of a good fine-quality material I can use to make a good shooter's rest so I do not have this problem again in the future?

Grady,
ROFLOL
I bet resting it on a piece of aluminum foil a top the bag would work.

Isn't Kevlar used for personal armor? Try it for a patch.

Don't know if this helps Grady, but according to this link, the BLUBB is made of nylong pack cloth,
whatever that is.
