Playing around with CS6 beta and the oil paint filter; similar to pixel bender, but not the same. I do like what it does to backgrounds, but I don't plan on getting rid of PB. IMO CS6 is worth the upgrade, especially with ACR7. Could be incorrect on the bird's ID, and it is probably a juvi. Comments and critique welcomed. regards~Bill

I like the colors, the subject, and the oil paint effect. I'd seen something about the oil paint part of CS6 but wasn't sure about it. Based on this, I have to agree with your conclusion about its effect on backgrounds. And it clearly does well on foregrounds, too.

Bill, the base image is beautiful and I love the oil paint effect on the background. Looks like CS6 from what I've read is going to be nice:S3:

Bill, I like the effect and I agree CS6 is similar but not the same. I think the subtle effect on the bird is nice and the background reminds me a bit of sandstone.
