I went to Hopewell Furnace with a friend/client Kate Ryan. We met Anita Bower from BPN there. Dave Woeller and his wife Eileen along with Ed Vatza (all from BPN ) were planning to meet us out there but the weather was bad and it was a long drive for Dave and his wife. I was in the area doing a workshop the day before and I was eager to see the place for myself. Lots of great things to photograph, since the sky was completely white I decided while photographing that I would use some texture overlays and go ahead and include the sky.

Like the effect with the overlays, but just a bit too much sky for me.

I would agree with Hazel on the sky. But a nice image otherwise.

Darn !!! Now I feel really bad. The weather didn't live up to its forecast and we probably would have been Ok. Wonderful shot and nice use of the texture. Maybe next time for us.

Lovely dreamy mood to this Denise. The textures are very nice. I am undecided about the sky. If it were mine, I might take just a little slice off the top and see what I thought. But if so, you may need to lighten the band across the sky just a bit.

Denise,
I like the extended sky, seems to be the trend now. It makes the horse seem so small in a fairy tale land. Great job as always with the processing.

Thanks folks, I could lose a sliver off the top and still be happy with it :S3:

Hi Denise, beautiful work. I love it! If you crop some off the top I think I would come down just to the top of the darker clouds in the upper right, but that's just me :S3:

It's a lovely scene Denise and I agree with Andrew about where to crop it. Nice processing and the texture adds a lot to the feel of the image as well as making the sky interesting.

My first impression was that I liked the vertical with all that sky. And I'm sticking with it. Great composition. Taking a chunk off the top would work, too, but I like it this way. The horse really adds to an already great image.
Hopewell Furnace . . . When I saw that name and the image and googled it, I shook my head. Years ago, when I lived nearby, I never went there. That's going to change, for sure.

Thanks all, I appreciate it.
Dennis, the place is filled with all kinds of goodies!

I like it! The texture works beautifully! I like all that sky. A crop from the sky would be ok, but then I'd want to crop the sides to retain that strong vertical. Thanks, again, for inviting me--I had fun and enjoyed meeting you and Kate.

Very nice D, nice composition, colors and effects...agree with cutting sliver off the sky.
