New Oil Paint Filter - CS6

Hi Folks;

Photographed this Tricocereus Flying Saucer in our garden this morning. This photo is full size, no cropping, and very little processing. In CS6, I clicked Filter>Oil Paint, and used the following specs starting at top: 2.6, 2.3, 0.1, 0.1, 1.0, 2.5. This light oil painting suits me. This is a series of Oil Paintings done using the new "Oil Paint" filter in the new photoshop CS6. public Beta offered free today by Adobe. There are 6 sliders to manipulate for painting, and I have listed the 6 measurements I used for each version displayed underneath each painting. This Oil Painting done using photoshop CS6 Oil Painting filter I used 7.0, 4.0, 7.0,,5.0, 300, 0.7 in succession from top to bottom. BTW: I have LR4, however, I like Corel AfterShot Pro better. (If you have any version of LR, you can upgrade for $39 - has free trial)

Hey, Gus, I've missed your beautiful cacti images. I like this a lot - it looks a lot like pixel bender but different - I like the abstract look of the background. Thanks for the tip on LR4, I need to upgrade.:S3:

A crop & getting rid of the white BG to give you a choice, No change in Oil Painting

Keep in mind there are dozens of ways to do the oil painting to suit your taste.

Very nice processing Gus. It's similar to what I used on the coot posted here. What a gorgeous bloom!
I am in favor of removing some of the white on the OP but I'm not in love with the frame although it's a nice effect but seems to close in too much.

Like the second image as the first is not an evironmental shot, so the excess is not needed. But would add a little to the top and bottom if it were mine.

Gus, I liked the repost with the red frame, it kind of spiced things up. Nice job and thank you for all your sharing with the program.

Thanks for your kind words. If your ready to do real drawing, CS6 is now in direcr competition with Corel Draw 12. John Derry, top Guru with Corel Draw was very promient in CS6 Beta, and claims that CS6 is right in there with the best with its new paint brushes, mind you, a Wacom tablet & pens are needed. Leading digital artists gave some fantastic painting samples.
