My first exposure to Yosemite was from Ansel Adams' photographs at SFMOMA. Since then I have visited this place many times and it continues to inspire me. Here is my version of this highly photographed vista in b&w. I had taken this one early spring when the falls was still approachable. For processing, I used multiple adjustment layers with masks and selectively painted to reduce the mist and bring out contrast, details. Hope you like it...
Hi Indranil, I love this comp. The falls and the river below are framed beautifully. It looks a little soft to me though - another round of sharpening maybe? The B&W works well for this also.
Indranil, I have loved your scenery images of Yosemite over the last few years, this image is no exception. It captures the raw power of the falls. Composition is rock solid and B & W effects compliment this image. Very sharp throughout. Very well done

Indranil, I love the composition and the power that the image conveys. I really don't see much of a difference in the two posts but I love this one!!
Wonderful classic B&W composition, Indranil. Nice amount of contrast and lovely softness to waterfall you captured. My eye does seem to want a bit more sharpening, but still very nicely done!
The composition and b&w conversion are both wonderful! I wish those front FG rocks were more in focus but I still really like this image. The drop of the spray really holds my attention and I see something else everywhere I look. Very nice!
Lovely scene but would agree on wanting a touch more sharpness in the foreground rocks. Quite a different take on it for me, very nice.

Thanks all. I appreciate it. I agree on the fg rocks... my intent was to keep the falls sharp and the rest soft as an effect of the mist from the falls. It is hard to keep the lens dry while trying to compose this image. I will have to try some new technique next time around to get the fg in focus :S3:
