The bird and perch are beautiful, and it's quite an accomplishment to get this close. It looks to me as if the focus is on the wing -- head seems a little soft, but a little selective focusing might help. Still a nice image. You might try toning down the highlights on the beak, and maybe lighten the blacks a little around the eye. I'm envious of this shot -- have never been able to get anything near this good of a KF.
Awesome one , Harshad . You have managed to get really close . Ron is spot on with his comments . In addition , there is a slight residue of PP on the perch just below its legs .
Harshad:
Good comments form the guys. THe pastel BG is lovely, and not a common one we see with the KFs.
There are a couple of smudges on the image, two above the small twig on far right side, and another at the intersection of the blue and tan, about 1" in from the left, and a final one above the very tip of the bill.
HOpe to see more from this outing, lovely setting.
Cheers
Randy
Great bird and bg, Harshad! I agree with the above comments. I see a number of dust bunnies or clone marks in the bg. I wish for a close KF opportunity!
Lovely image of this cool bird, Harshad.
Hi Bhai, I thought you were visiting me at my favourite location when I saw your Pied Kingfisher. Well placed in the frame, and your perch is nice and thin compared with what I have this end, and that BG is a killer.
Harshad, killer BG and nice composition. I find the contrast a bit too high. good pointers above.
I can never get close to a KF and they frustrate me so congrats on the capture. I like the image but notice the dust bunnies mentioned and am with Kaustubh about the contrast. Great image.
Nice bird and bg colours.
