One from last September while on my way to Lake Superior. Along the way I pass by Chutes Provincial Park in Massey, Ontario. There are a few picturesque cascades and rapids on the Aux Sables River in this small park...this is the main attraction. I used my 'waterfall setting' in Topaz BW Effects for this one.
My 'Waterfall Setting' - After makng adjustments in the 'Basic Exposure' found under the 'Conversion' tab I go to 'Adaptive Exposure' also under the 'Conversion' tab and I set the 'detail' slider to 2.24 and the 'detail boost' slider to 1.39. Under the 'Creative Effects' tab I set 'simplify' to 0.29 and 'feature boost' to 1.95 and finally under the 'Finishing Touches' tab I set 'film grain' to Ilford PanF Plus 50 and 'transparency' to 0.78. I always apply this custom preset to a duplicate layer in case I want to reduce the opacity of it in the final image.
Very nice composition, Andrew, and love this illustration /storybook style of yours. Like the combination of fine, detailed textures, color, and flow to cascade. TFS your technique - Nice work!

Andrew, It's like you have created your own "detail effect" works nicely with this image.

Awesome technique and result, Andrew! The scene is one I would love to visit someday. Thanks for the "how to".
