I converted this image to b&w about a year ago. I am always amazed when I do a conversion - it either works or it doesn't - and I really wasn't expecting to like this one as much as I did.
I used Silver Efex to do the conversion and then tweaked it in CS5.

Julie,
Greetings. I think this is superb! There's something about the unexpected location of the detail and perspective that is very attractive. Good show!
Cheers,

Julie, I like the way the flower petals cut across on a diagonal, it adds a lot of interest. Nice job with the conversion. At the bottom I might make that one triangle on the edge black if it were mine. Nice work as always and it is nice to see you posting here. We all miss your talent.

Outstanding! I really like how the brightness of the glow changes with the layers of petals.

Excellent B&W photo, Jules! The diagonal composition and shallow DOF add a lot of interest, and I love the "glow" to the petals. Well done!

Jules, really, really nicely done. I would never have noticed the white triangle but I think it'd look better black (Denise has an eagle eye:S3:).
