Removed bkgd details with exposure slider in PS and icicles masked. Converted to B&W with Topaz B&W, low key 1. Then Fractalius. On to Topaz Clean, stylize details. Then neon filter in PS. Finally omni light in PS for a glow. The thickest icicles were very long and to get them in the original photograph I would have had to back up so far that all internal details would have been lost. So a compromise was necessary. The icicles were dripping and I wanted to convey that motion plus that bright, glassy look icicles can get.

Great combo of effects, Nancy! The black BG and frac really sets these off. I like your choices for the comp/exposure/detail and, for me, the top portion has a root like structure... very cool. :S3:

Nancy, This is a really interesting look. I wonder if you can whiten the whites just a touch more w/o losing the effect you were after, which BTW I think you achieved.

Excellent composition, Nancy. I think you have captured the icicles and the dripping motion very well. Excellent processing!

Good suggestion Denise. Here is a repost using Selective Color in PS reducing the black in the whites. And thank you Steve & Indranil.

Hi Nancy, nice work on the repost. I think fractalius and icicles were made for each other. No icicles up here anymore, it was +14 Celsius yesterday. :S3:
