I've been looking for the right image to use as a first go at the new Topaz Star Effects, which Mitch has been using so effectively. I got this capture yesterday of a Red-shouldered Hawk sitting in a tree, very far away and in complete shade - or so I thought until I noticed the speckles of sunlight on the branches. This made me think that it might work with the new plugin. I started with Topaz DeNoise on everything but the bird, which I knew would give the tree an illustrated look. Next I used an extreme black vignette from Topaz Lens Effects and Topaz Clean on just the hawk. Then it was ready for the Star Effects. I also adjusted the color balance of the hawk so it would appear to be illuminated by the star effects. Hope you like...

Kerry, I would never have guessed what this was from the thumbnail. Very, very cool effect - I love the star effects. I could see cropping a little from the right but I love it the way it is also.:S3:

Kerry, This is very creative and wild! The mood and the composition are great. The image has a nice balance to it.

Very nice and inspiring, Kerry! Is the star effect a separate plugin from the topaz bundle?

Hi Dan, yes the Star Effects is a new plugin from Topaz. I don't think it's included in the bundle at this time.
