Great Egret and Mangrove roots with the Canon 70-200mm f.2.8L IS with the 1.4X II TC and the EOS-1D MIV. Hand held at 170mm. ISO 400. Evaluative metering at -1/3 stop: 1/500 sec. at f/4.
Converted to B&W in NIK Silver Efex Pro. Started with the Antique Solarization preset followed by major tweaking. On the SW FLA IPT.

I like everything about this image, except the lack of detail in the Egret, which might make it stand out more. The textures and tones are lovely!

I like the comp. and the filtering is different. I think the little thing hanging on the top right edge is mildly distracting, I might fill it in with the neighboring white if it were mine.

Artie, I like this composition a lot! The pano crop with the wave lines give a feel of flow of water with the egret staring into it. The b&w conversion and the tonal range is excellent. For me, I like shape of the egret, somewhat camouflaged and its subtle abstractness, making it even more interesting. TFS.
