I knew Dave, appreciated his commenting on my images, corresponded with him with PMs, and I miss him. This image is of a Green Heron, a bird we both really liked, using the plugin fractalius that I am so glad he introduced me to, as well as pixel bender.
Comments and critique welcomed. regards
Dave would have loved this image, Bill. Typical greenie pose and I love the soft colors in the bg.

Very painterly, almost like an etching on the bird and wood. I think that if the background was blurred a little, you would really have an etching on your hands. It reminds me of the ones you see in the hand painted old bird books. Just my thoughts.
Just wonderful!

Appreciate the kind words! Sandy; indeed my main goal when I began develpoment of this technique several years ago was to create etching type images that were reminiscent of those found in the 18-19 century. The use of fractalius to create the very thin lines necessary was absolutely essential, and I can thank Dave for bringing the program to my attention. Miss the guy!! regards~Bill
