From Corkscrew Swamp several weeks ago. Light was limited, but this guy was kind enough to sit still for his portrait. I know it's a bit tight in the frame, but if I backed up off the boardwalk I would have been in the swamp with the gators. Full frame. Cleaned up a few bright branches in the BG. C&C appreciated.

Thanks guys. I actually did open it up a bit around the face, but perhaps could have done more.

Nice bird and a beautiful perch and BKGR. Sharp. The face looks a bit muddy, just a bit. Maybe a tad too much contrast and saturation. I am pretty sure that there is a great image in there that will come out with a lighter touch on the processing.....

I love this one Bill. Lovely background, very nice angled perch, a frown that only a raptor could give and nice detail and pose. The blue highlight in the eye has me wondering what caused it.

Got me. I'll admit to boosting the saturation and contrast, but only a tiny bit, to bring out the feather detail. The dark lores are part of the bird's natural coloration, so I was afraid to open up that area too much.

Dan, I'm guessing it's the reflection of the blue sky seen through the cypress trees.

Hi Bill, apart from needing a touch more space below, the rest of your comp is perfect. Super pose, and I like the detail. A good view of the beak, and I do like the BG colours too.
